Particular task types

Applicable to:    TimeGuard Network | TimeGuard Pro

In this window you add task types which are particular to a specific project.
You can add the same task types to other projects as well (see 'Import task types' below), however, if this is the case, consider adding the task types in the 'General tasks types' section.
Click the 'New' link to add a new particular task type.

Tip:  Tasks are ordered by ABC. If you want the tasks to be in a specific order, consider adding numbers to the task text, for example:

1. Modeling.
1.1 Testing parts.
2. Drawing.
3. DR meeting.

    Legend:

  1. Menu bar.
  2. Task types list.
  3. Task types options. You can also right click inside the table for the same options.
  4. The task description section.
  5. The name of the project which the task belong to.
  6. The task type description.
  7. The task type rate and currency. If the project is a 'per hour' project, the field will be enabled, and the project's default 'per hour' rate will be set. You can override the default 'per hour' price. If the project is a 'fixed price' or 'retainer' project, the rate of the task type is set to zero and it cannot be changed.
Note: editing the rate of an existing task type, will not change the rate of tasks that were reported (or recorded), using the older rate.
  8. The task type remark. In the remark field you can add a remark to the task type. The remark appears in the Input window whenever this task type is selected. The remark is useful reminder of things to be done when a task is performed.
  9. Save task type button: saves a new task, or updates an existing one.
  10. When the 'Ask progress' checkbox is checked, the employee will be asked for the progress status of the task. The options are: Not started, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% (Completed).
  11. When the 'Show to employees' checkbox is checked, the task will be available to the employees in the 'Record tab' and the 'Report tab' of the 'TimeGuard Input' window. Uncheck it to hide the task.
  12. 'Import task types' link: opens a window that enables you to import existing task types from other projects. You can also use the right-click pop-up menu to open the 'Import Task Types' window. See the image below.
  13. Use the project list to select the project to add task types to.
